Low Level Laser (aka Cold Laser)
Low-Level Laser therapy is the use of low intensity photonic energy as a treatment modality. Photonic stimuli excite the body’s cells infusing them with energy, with the three primary reactions being, reduction of inflammation, cell regeneration and increased blood flow.

Low Level Laser Therapy is a noninvasive, fast and effective modality that has been proven in clinical trials to reduce pain, reduce edema, and promote healing.

Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound causes microscopic vibrations in the deep tissue molecules, increasing heat and friction.  The warming effect encourages healing in
the soft tissues by increasing the metabolism at the level of the tissue cells.
Electrotherapy (aka Electric Muscle Stimulation or e-stim)
Electrical muscle stimulation uses an electrical current to cause a single muscle or a group of muscles to contract.  Contracting the muscle via electrical stimulation helps strengthen the affected muscle, promote blood supply to the area which assists in healing, increases range of motion, and prevents muscle atrophy.
Orthotics / Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers
Your body is an interconnected system of specialized parts, and the support structure which holds everything together is made up of bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Even if your feet don’t hurt, they may be contributing to your overall postural balance.  Correcting imbalances in the feet can correct imbalances throughout the body.  Dr. Meltzer utilizes Foot Leveler stabilizers, a premier brand in custom spinal pelvic stabilization orthotics.
Biofreeze
Biofreeze products are classified as topical analgesics (pain relievers), which work through a ‘counter irritant’ mechanism. This means that the menthol in Biofreeze creates a sensation that overrides pain signals to the brain. This process is known as ‘Gate Control Theory’, where nerve impulses from one stimulus block the nerves containing pain signals to the brain. Recent research also suggests that menthol may stimulate cold receptors in the skin that may help regulate pain as well.
Intersegmental Traction (aka Roller Table)
Intersegmental traction is a way of applying passive motion into the spine for the purpose of increasing mobilization.  Since discs have a poor blood supply, they get nutrients from the circulation of fluids surrounding spinal joints.  Problems prevent this natural circulation and can cause disc degeneration.  Intersegmental traction help increase and restore necessary elasticity and motion to the spine.  Most patients find this treatment to be very relaxing and very helpful.  The gentle rolling action is restful, exercising the spine without effort.  Most patients refer to this as "the massage table".

Spinal Decompression
Devices like the Triton DTS Spinal Decompression unit can go a long way in reducing pain associated with conditions that irritate nerves. These computerized machines work by gently tractioning portions of the spine, relieving pressure on the affected nerves. This is an effective treatment for conditions including herniated, bulging, or protruding discs; sciatica; degenerative disc disease; and posterior facet syndrome. When treating disc disorders, the Triton DTS Spinal Decompression unit creates a vacuum within the injured disc so that any material that’s slipped or squeezed out of place may return to its normal position.
